"Summary  about spatial variation and distribution of urban energy consumptions from cities in China."

China  has  big diversity in natural , geographical conditions, population density and energy consumption patterns. Also china has a  quick discrepancy of economic development between china’s urban and rural areas, leading to corresponding differences in economic production and energy consumption therefore, a dual structure has been formed in the consume of energy resources in china,in which the majority of energy is used by cities.Urban residents consume a lot of energy  consumption.therefore  it is certainly that  urban energy plays an  important role in china’s energy consumption.urban energy would be  of great significance in achieving the country’s national targets such as energy security and climate  change impact mitigation. For now the previous studies focused on national energy system said that there has been a great  lack in reports on energy consumption patterns in Chinese cities.
This article is  based  in a research so china has initiated a number of measures and   some strategies  to facilitate the identification of optimal energy  structures in most Chinese cities , with the purpose of know which cities  have better structures.because of economic diversities it is normally unreasonable to put  forward  the same target of reducing  energy consumption for all of the cities. An investigation of spatial variance in energy consumptions  in the entire country are thus necessary to facilitate the restructure energy system in many cities in order to improve energy security, reduce energy induced air pollution and GHG  emission. But in this article  the main objective  of this article  is to investigate and analyze  the spatial characteristics of energy consumption patterns.
To conclude this article and the research  made the 30 provincial capital cities of mainland china were adopted as case  cities to make  analysis of spatial characteristics of urban energy systems regard to energy consumption scale, structure and efficiency.the high diversities  and large spatial variances  with regard to scale , structure and efficiency are the indicators associated with urban energy consumption.cites with the highest total energy consumptions are mostly distributed in economic developed-regions as Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan area,Yangtze river delta and pearl river delta of china. The three Chinese economy_ zones  east, middle and west    the within group differences are the dominant factor  that contribute to the overall  variance for all the indicators of scale  efficiency and structure. Also the framework  of urban energy management is from top to bottom and based on administrative divisions. This is mainly  about what the article talks.

‘’ Summary of Cities in China: Modern World.’’

China has a large, dynamic and complex city system. This one is divided into three levels based on their -administrative statuses. The three are county –level cities, prefecture-level cities and 3 central municipalities. From 1993 to 2000 these three levels has changed in numbers a lot. The city of Chongqing became the fourth central municipality in July 1997.When the cities are at different statuses, they get different levels of authority, like investment decision making and foreign-funded project approvals. When the level is higher, then more directly the city reports to Beijing and greater is its autonomy and influence.

The definition of China cities is not that simple. Chinese cities are administrative entities and must be officially designated, with designation criteria; this means that it must be a function of political-administrative status, economic development, openness, and total population of an urban place. There have been many upgrades in the status in the administrative hierarchy and what includes and all this efforts have brought a significant growth in China’s urban sector in the past two decades. As an example many county seats were reclassified as cities, what increase the total number of cities.

To explain better this topic China classifies cities in five categories according to their sizes, super large for cities with the greatest population, very large, large, medium and small cities. The majority of Chinese cities are small. Because all of this that I explained before the geographical situation in china has changed a lot, with the increased of cities that there weren’t cities before and this have increased china’s total gross domestic product, national industrial output and total exports. The Chinese city system exhibit great impacts of china’s urban development strategies. How is this? Heavy industries are grown, the cities are considered as potential places for industrial plants.

Since many years, China has moved really quickly its urbanization. As prove of that its urban population increased from 172 million to 458 million, and the urban population share increased too. The China’s urban policy, play a roll favoring the development of small cities. This Chinese policy has been question by scholars in recent years. China city system has also been affected by migration policy, so they limited rural- to –urban migration, especially to large cities. China’s city system will be determined by market forces rather than by government intervention.
